Data as of
The headline number
83% of the Meta ads live today launched within the last 30 days. The ad libraries turn over almost completely inside a quarter, which is why a one-time competitor pull goes stale in weeks.
The public ad libraries are the closest thing advertising has to open books: Meta, Google, and LinkedIn each publish the ads running on their platforms. The catch is volume and churn. A single active brand can have thousands of ads live at once. Liquid Death alone had roughly 5,000 active Meta ads in the US when we measured on August 10, 2026 (5,184 that day; the count moves daily).
Churn is the number that changes how you work. With 83% of live Meta ads launched inside the last 30 days, the library you screenshotted last month mostly no longer exists. Competitive ad research is a daily measurement problem, not a quarterly deck problem.
Waldo tracked-ad corpus, measured August 11, 2026. Figures cover the brands under active tracking, not the entire market.
Questions teams ask
How many ads does a typical brand have in the ad libraries?
It varies enormously by category and spend. Across the roughly 270 brands Waldo tracks daily, the corpus holds 121,000+ analyzed ads, and 52,000+ of them are live in their libraries this week. At the high end, a single aggressive advertiser like Liquid Death ran about 5,000 active Meta ads at once (5,184 on August 10, 2026).
How fast do ad libraries turn over?
Fast. 83% of the Meta ads live across our tracked corpus launched within the last 30 days. Any snapshot of a competitor library describes a fleet that will be mostly replaced within a month.
Which ad libraries can be searched in one place?
Waldo covers the Meta, Google, and LinkedIn ad libraries in one call through discover_ads, with TikTok available through its own search endpoint. Every result carries the native library ID and a deep link back to the original listing.
