Use case

Messaging research in the customer’s own words

The audience’s actual language, the claims the category leans on, and competitor page copy over time, pullable before you write.

The short answer

Waldo grounds messaging work in evidence from three directions: clustered verbatims that capture the audience’s own words, an angle library that maps every claim the category makes, and landing page snapshots that show competitor copy changing over time. Writers pull all three from one API and MCP surface.

The job to be done

Copy strategy usually starts with secondhand language: interview transcripts from last year, a survey that handed people its own vocabulary, and a messaging audit built from one afternoon of visiting competitor sites. The writer ends up guessing at the words customers use and rediscovering, after launch, that every rival makes the same three claims.

The job has three questions: how does the audience actually phrase the problem, which claims are already crowded, and what are competitors saying this week rather than last quarter. All three are answerable from public data, if the data is current, clustered, and traceable to real posts.

How Waldo does it

Mine the audience’s words

GET /audiences/{id}/conversations returns clustered verbatims: the phrasing, metaphors, and objections people actually use. The best headline is usually already written in a comment section.

Map the claim landscape

GET /category/{id}/angle-library shows every claim and framing running across the competitive set, so the brief can name which territories are crowded and which are still open.

Read competitor pages over time

GET /brands/{id}/lp-changes tracks landing page copy as it changes, and the diffs reveal repositioning: a headline swap or a new proof point often lands there before it reaches the ads.

Quote with receipts

Enrichment endpoints pull the specific posts and transcripts worth citing verbatim, so the voice of customer section of the brief links to real people saying the real thing.

Questions teams ask

Do I get the actual quotes or a summary?

Either, per call. Raw verbatims cost about one credit per twenty results; clustered, scored analysis costs about five. Most writers pull the analysis to find the themes and the raw quotes to write from.

How current is the competitor messaging picture?

Tracked brands refresh every 24 hours across pages, posts, and ads, so the claim map reflects this week. Discover endpoints go live at request time for brands outside the tracked set.

Can this feed message testing afterwards?

Yes. The same conversation endpoints read reception once the copy ships, so the loop closes: mine the language, ship the message, then watch how the audience repeats it back.
